INTRODUCTION

The Specialisation Course in “Inter-cultural Communication with China for the Promotion of Made in Italy and the Historical and Artistic Heritage Business Management” aims to provide the participants skills of inter-cultural marketing for the promotion of Made in Italy and the business management of the national and local historical and artistic heritage, tangible and intangible, both of tourism management and marketing and product design, for the enhancement of the local cultural and food and wine tourism in China, with a focus on training about the chinese friendly hospitality.
The Course aims to provide participants human resource management and organisational management skills, together with cultural and professional inter-mediation knowledge useful to find employment in private and public enterprises, organisations and institutions working with China or aiming at the development of relationships with China,  Italian companies with investments in China or Chinese companies with investments in Italy.

GOALS
The Course’s goal is to provide the participants appropriate cultural, practical and technical-scientific information useful to work with China, creating the awareness of cultural peculiarities in the orientation of relationship and communication with Chinese partners, suppliers, customers and shareholders with particular attention to their organisation, hospitality and service needs.

TARGET
The target participants of the Course are graduates with Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, Five years’ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in a foreign University, both humanistic and tehcnical-scientific. The Course is available to all those possessing the abovementioned qualifications, but it’s particularly recommended to graduates in Foreign Languages, Linguistic Mediation, Science of Cultural Heritage, Science of Tourism, Economics and International Law and to graduates in Chinese Language who are looking for a way to foster their access to the labour market.
The access to the Course doesn’t require any preliminary Chinese language knowledge.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY
The Course has a high-level interdisciplinary nature, as it’s made up of Chinese language modules, culture, society, art and contemporary literature, marketing, law, economics and management. The taught classes are joined to exercises and simulations. The Teachers pay particular attention in developing theoretical-practical learning materials extracted from the academic and scientific literature, but also from practice and experience.
During the Course, the teachers organise a test at the end of each teaching module, in order to assess the participants’ learning level. They also organise a final test.

ORGANISATION OF TEACHING

Classroom activities: 450 hours

Internship: 350 hours
Project work and final test: 150 hours

SELECTION

The access to the Course is subject to a selection step consisting of a test and an interview to assess the motivational and professional profile and the personal attitudes.

EDUCATIONAL PATH

The educational path consists of the following learning modules:
Module 1:Country’s background, History and Geography of China, Economic History of China
Module 2: Economy of China in the Asian development model
Module 3:Geography of markets and consumption in China, luxury goods, Italian investments in China and Chinese investments in Italy;
Module 4.a: Chinese language, Basic glossary of social relationships and hospitality (for participants who don’t have preliminary Chinese language knowledge)
Modulo 4.b: Chinese language for the employment, CEFR Level B2 (for graduates in Chinese Language)
Module 5: Elementary Business Chinese for everyone
Module 6: Literature, Arts and Aesthetics of contemporary China
Module 7: Models of Chinese mindset: Phylosophies and Religions
Module 8: Inter-cultural marketing of Cultural Heritage, Historical-Artistic Heritage and Tourism for China
Module 9: Inter-cultural communication of Made in Italy and Chinese Customer Relationship Management
Module 10: Online communication for China and web reputation
Module 11: Chinese Negotiation strategies
Module 12: The legal framework, the company law, the drawing up of contracts, the protection of intellectual property
Module 13: Human resources management in negotiation procedures and management organisation
Module 14 Internship– duration 350 hours, the participant will live a full immersion in the host company’s activities in order to experience “on the job” what he has learnt during the Course. The internship period could be implemented in private enterprises, public institutions, schools and associations.
Module 15 Project work and final test – duration 150 hours, the participant will draw up a thesis about a topic chosen among the subjects of the Course, and he will discuss it in the final test.

The minimum attendance level is 80% of the total amount of the Course hours and it’s compulsory for all the training activities, including the internship.

The teaching staff members come from both the business and professional world and also from the academic and cultural world.

TECHNICAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

The Technical Scientific Committee consists of three qualified Teachers, who are experts in translation and language mediation fields.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Course aims to train professional profiles able to find employment in several national enterprises, multinational corporations and institutions maintaining relationships of commercial and institutional partnership with Chinese companies and institutions, in those Italian and European companies that have been recently acquired by China and which will grow up thanks to the massive Chinese investment plan on Europe, in touristic regional, national and international companies, as for the hospitality and marketing sectors.

PLACEMENT
The SSML Nelson Mandela acts as a reference point for the participants even after the end of the educational path, by ensuring them thePlacement service, in order to keep the Course learning experience going on and foster its expendability with a view on professional placement/relocation of participants. The Placement service leans on the SSML Nelson Mandela relationships network with several economic and business regional and national companies, which have been selected on the basis of their reliability. The Students’ Office always checks job vacancies fittting the professional profiles of the inter-cultural mediation with China in both the partner enterprises and external companies, even during the educational path. The interesting job vacancies are disseminated through the Course participants, in order to orient them to those vacancies fitting one’s own profile. The partnership connections with enterprises and the awareness of the participants’ skills and potentialities will allow us to match companies needs and professional profiles properly.

CERTIFICATES
The participants who attended at least 80% of the Course lessons will be awarded a Specialisation Course’s Diploma in “ Inter-cultural Communication with China for the Promotion of Made in Italy and the Historical and Artistic Heritage Business Management” and an Eipass certificate, after passing the final test.
