The curricular internship represents a qualifying element of the study programme of the Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistic Mediation – Linguistic Mediation for Translation and Interpreting.

Scheduled during the third year of the programme, the internship provides students with the opportunity to apply the linguistic, cultural, and professional skills acquired throughout their academic career through direct experience within companies, institutions, public and private organisations, and bodies operating in different fields.

SSML Nelson Mandela promotes and supports curricular internships both in Italy and abroad through a network of agreements and partnerships with qualified professional organisations, which is constantly updated and continuously expanding. Collaboration with national and international partners allows students to experience different working environments and develop essential practical and transversal skills for their future professional careers.

Every year, SSML Nelson Mandela renews and expands its collaborations with companies, institutions, and organisations, creating new educational opportunities and fostering an increasingly strong connection between the university and the labour market. These agreements enable students to access internship programmes consistent with their field of study and with the professional areas of linguistic mediation, translation, and interpreting.

The internship therefore represents a significant growth opportunity, aimed at integrating classroom-based education with practical experience, developing greater awareness of one’s skills, and acquiring the tools necessary to approach future professional integration with confidence and independence.

The internship activity is carried out on the basis of a training project shared between SSML Nelson Mandela and the host organisation, with the support of academic and company tutors who guide the student throughout all stages of the experience, ensuring its educational value and consistency with the objectives of the Degree Programme.
