In conformity with the European academic mobility, in order to recognize the previous academic career, the student intending to transfer himself from another University or High School for Linguistic Mediators has to present the Directorate the application form (available at the Student’s Office and on the website: click here), attaching it to the certificate of the passed exams indicating the subject area and the number of accrued credits.
This procedure applies for the acknowledgement of ECTs belonging to the same class (L-12) and these are recognized up to the number of credits of the same scientific-subject area expected in the relevant Study Plan.
If the student comes from an academic Course belonging to a class which is different from L-12, he has also to present the teaching plans of passed exams, in addition to the aforementioned documents.
The Directorate will examine all the documents to establish the equivalence degree of the scientific-subject areas and the contents of the educational activities by which the student got his credits.
In both cases, if there remains some credits, their acknowledgement will be evaluated in reference to the educational and cultural affinities
Withdrawal of studies
According to the rules in force, the student can withdraw his studies by a written instrument.
The withdrawal of studies is definitive and causes the carried out career cancellation. In order to make a withdrawal of studies, the student must fill out a specific form, which is available in the administrative office and attach a € 16,00 tax stamp and the student’s record book to it.
Also, he must prove he’s up to date with tuition payments and he has no right to the return of paid fees. If there are no objective obstacles to the courses attendance, the Nelson Mandela School has the right to ask for the whole amount of tax and contribution of the academic year.
After a withdrawal the student could enroll again to the same study course and, according to the criteria established by the Scientific and Technical Committee, the academic credits earned before could be acknowledged.
Forfeiture of student status
The “student” status is set for those enrolled to the Higher Studies Course who’re up to date with the administrative procedures. The students lose their status if they don’t pass at least one exam in eight consecutive academic years after the last enrollment year, or if they don’t enroll for eight consecutive years. The forfeiture status isn’t applied to those students who only lack the final exam. The forfeiture causes the loss of the right to transfer/make some passages and other educational procedures; however the student can ask for the certification of the carried out academic career, declared fallen. If the student who lost his status intends to come back to studies, he has to repeat the enrollment procedure as a new one(enrollment obligation and tuition payment).
Renewal of the enrollment
As for the renewal of the enrollment to the next years, the Administrative offices will give the students a notice about the procedure to follow by the end of July. The Administrative office is responsible for applying the stamp proving the enrollment to the current academic year to the Student’s Record Book. Delays in the enrollment renewal procedures are subjected to penalties. If the student is not up to date with the enrollments and tuition fees of the previous years, his renewal of the enrollment will not be accepted. In case of enrollment failure to one or more academic years, the student must ask for a re-evaluation of his student status. Also, he must pay a tuition fee for each of the years he didn’t enroll to.
